Leatherology Review 2026: Full-Grain Leather Travel Gear for an Organized Trip

Gate B14, boarding in twenty minutes. Your passport, boarding pass and the hotel confirmation you printed "just in case" are all in one slim leather cover, your charger is coiled in a magnetic wrap instead of knotted at the bottom of your bag, and the duffle on your shoulder has a front pocket for the things you'll reach for first. Nothing to dig for. Nothing to drop at security. That calm, organized feeling is the whole idea behind Leatherology.
We went through Leatherology's travel bags, passport holders, toiletry kits, prices and policies on the brand's own site in October 2026. Here's what each piece actually offers, which one fits which kind of trip, and how to pay less for it.
The Story: A Brother-and-Sister Leather Brand From Texas
Leatherology is run by a brother-sister duo, co-founders Rae Liu and David Liu, and is headquartered in Carrollton, Texas, just outside Dallas. According to the brand's FAQ, design, product development, personalization, customer care and logistics all happen there, next to its own wholly owned manufacturing center. The company describes itself as vertically integrated, so it controls the process from the materials it sources to the way each piece is finished.
The founders' mission is "to elevate the everyday," and they say plainly that they believe great design and quality "can be accessibly priced." You also won't typically find a big logo on the front of the products. Leatherology leaves that space for you, with debossed monograms, hand paint or quilted Trapunto stitching.
What Makes It Different: Full-Grain Leather and Built-In Organization
Leatherology says it uses only 100% uncorrected full-grain leather, the strong outer layer of the hide, and never "genuine leather" or synthetics. It splits its leathers into two families:
- Signature leathers made from American hides, designed for easy care and a consistent look, in Natural Grain or Pebbled finishes. Think Saddle Brown, Umber, Driftwood, Fairway Green or Garnet Red.
- Premium leathers from tanneries in Italy and Germany, such as Brown Croc and Tobacco Suede, each with its own character.
All of its leather comes from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group, a not-for-profit focused on environmental and social practices in leather production. What travelers will notice most, though, is the pocket planning. The duffles, totes and toiletry kits are designed around where things go, so you spend the trip using your stuff instead of hunting for it. Travel + Leisure, quoted on Leatherology's About page, said the brand "impressed us with its thoughtful organization and durable materials."

The Travel Lineup: From Passport to Duffle
Leatherology's Travel section covers duffle bags, backpacks, laptop bags, passport holders, travel wallets, luggage tags and toiletry kits. Here's how the main pieces line up, with the prices we saw in October 2026.
| Product | Price | Buy this if… |
|---|---|---|
| Deluxe Passport Cover | $80 | You want your passport, cards and folded documents in one slim cover |
| Deluxe Passport Cover + Luggage Tag Set | $130 | You'd like a matching set, or a ready-made gift for a frequent flyer |
| Slim Zip Travel Wallet | $145 | You need cards and documents organized without extra bulk |
| Family Passport Holder | $160 | You're the one carrying everyone's passports through the airport |
| Hanging Toiletry Kit | From $210 | Hotel counters are always too small for your bottles and tools |
| Sloan Backpack / Sloan Large Backpack | $365 / $415 | You carry a laptop, and the Large adds a trolley sleeve |
| Kessler Medium Duffle | From $375 (canvas/leather) | You want one bag for weekend trips and gym days |
| Transit Travel Tote | $465 | You want a personal-item tote with a place for everything |
| Legacy Medium / Large Duffle | $480 / $525 | You need a few days' or a week's essentials in one leather bag |
Legacy Medium or Legacy Large?
Leatherology describes the Legacy Medium Duffle as fitting "a few days' essentials," and the Legacy Large Duffle as holding "a week's essentials." Both have an exterior front pocket for the things you grab first, an interior zippered pocket, two open pockets, and two D-rings so you can add a shoulder strap and walk the terminal hands-free. Buy the Medium if your trips are long weekends and you like traveling light. Buy the Large if you pack for a full week or bring shoes and a jacket. The Large costs $45 more.
Transit Travel Tote vs. Sloan Large Backpack
Both slide over a rolling suitcase handle. The Transit Travel Tote has two exterior pockets, nine interior pockets, two zippered compartments, a hidden trolley pocket and an interior key leash, plus short leather straps or shoulder straps. The Sloan Large Backpack brings a roomy main compartment, a padded laptop sleeve, a trolley sleeve and adjustable straps. Buy the tote if you like to see everything at a glance at your seat. Buy the backpack if you walk a lot between gates, trains and city streets and want both hands free.
Which passport piece?
Traveling solo? The Deluxe Passport Cover ($80) holds your passport, cards and folded documents in a slim profile. Leatherology says the version in the travel set "doubles as a versatile travel wallet." Traveling as a family? The Family Passport Holder ($160) fits up to 6–8 passports, with a zip-around closure, a top handle and card slots and pockets for tickets and IDs, so the whole family's documents live in one place.
